Prior to founding Faust Harrison Pianos, Sara won prestigious international piano competitions including Concert Artists Guild and the first New York Chopin competition. Sara also performed widely including solo performances at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall (Weil Recital Hall) and live prime-time performances on WFMT and numerous other prestigious classical radio stations.
Sara always sought superior pianos for her career; initially, these were just Steinways. However, she felt that new Steinways lacked the magic of the older “Golden Era” instruments. So she hired the best craftsmen she could find to rebuild vintage Steinways and restore these pianos to their full former glory.
Upon retiring from her performing career, Sara founded Faust Harrison Pianos with the mission of crafting the best possible Steinway piano restorations and pairing great and affordable pianos with pianists at all levels. As a former professional concert pianist, Sara brings a perspective to piano retailing and restoration that is unique in the industry.
Under Sara’s guidance, Faust Harrison Pianos has become the nation’s foremost rebuilder and retailer of concert-quality Steinway pianos and a leader in sales of the world’s other major piano brands (Yamaha, Bosendorfer, Bechstein and Fazioli).
